MEETINGS

During the semester, weekly member meetings are held Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. in the Viking Den in the Campus Center building. Interested non-member students are welcome and are encouraged to attend. State-Level Meetings are held twice a year.

EVENTS

In order to have your membership in AGS noted on your transcript, you must earn a certain number of activity points. The Point Schedule describes the AGS Point System in detail. Besides attending the meetings, there are three general types of activities for which you can earn points:

  • Fundraising activities give us the money that we need to run the chapter, attend state-level meetings, and give scholarship money to our local members.

  • Service activities are an important part of AGS. We try to help out both our campus and the surrounding communities. Service points are earned by participating in group projects, but members can also perform service activities individually.

  • Social activities give members a chance to meet and form social bonds. Because the group composition changes from semester to semester, the social activities vary more than either of the other two types. In addition to our chapter activities, we sometimes try to schedule joint activities with other nearby chapters.
