Dave Fishbaugh is a graduate of each segment of higher education in California, including Chabot College in Hayward, the University of California at Berkeley and San Jose State University. He holds a Masters in Library Science and Post-Masters Certificate in Library Management. From 1980 to 1993 he served on the faculty at Mission College in Santa Clara as a librarian, instructor and department chair. He has been on the administration of West Valley College in Saratoga, CA since 1993, first as Director of Library Services and then Dean, Learning Resources. He became Vice President, Instruction in 2006. His background includes significant experience with librarianship and learning resources, instructional technology, distance learning, collective bargaining, and all phases of management and supervision. He has had substantial institutional involvement with accreditation over the course of his career. Dave's personal interests include reading, music, cooking, hiking and cycling.
