2. What classes do I need to take to obtain a real estate broker's license in California?

Individuals seeking a California Real Estate Broker license must successfully complete the following five courses offered at West Valley College:

In addition, Broker license applicants must also successfully complete three of the following elective courses offered at West Valley:

In addition to successfully completing these classes, Broker license applicants must also demonstrate work experience. For further information about the work experience requirements please consult the web site for the California Department of Real Estate at: www.dre.ca.gov

3. What classes do I need to take to obtain a Real Estate Appraiser's license in California?

West Valley College's current Appraisal courses satisfy most of the educational requirements needed to obtain a Real Estate Appraiser's license in California. However, the California Office of Real Estate Appraisal (OREA) is in the midst of substantially revising the educational requirements required to obtain an Appraiser's license in California. These new educational requirements will become effective as of January 1, 2008. Accordingly, West Valley College will be revising its Appraisal curriculum to meet these new requirements effective as of January 1, 2008. Until January 1, 2008, West Valley College's current Appraisal offerings still satisfy the OREA education requirements for an Appraiser's license. For the most up-to-date information on these new educational standards, please consult the OREA web site: www.orea.ca.gov

4. Are West Valley's classes appropriate for someone who is not seeking to obtain a license?

Absolutely. While the majority of students taking our classes are interested in obtaining a real estate or appraiser's license, we design our courses to be rewarding and informative for those individuals seeking further knowledge about real estate and/or appraisal generally.
