recent club meeting that they would rather wear lapel pins instead of T-Shirts.

Plan For Education: Ask Shauna or Dan for a summary of the
event. CSET – Is coming! What is a CSET?
California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) is the new test
replacing the SSAT and Praxis II. English,
math, the sciences, and social science tests start in January 2003.
What about the other subject-matter’s?
Yes they will replaced by the CSET as well.
For more information you can check out the CCTC web site (http://www.ctc.ca.gov/profserv/examinfo/singlesubject.html),
the National Evaluation Systems (NES) who will be administering these tests (www.cset.nesinc.com),
or the Coded-Correspondence
02-0008 about the CSET. CBEST
Test Prep: We all are supposed to be taking the CBEST test, yet none of us ever
seem to have the time to get around to it.
So, what do you think about schedule all of us to take the CBEST in
December? We can plan some CBEST
Test Prep meetings (The off Thursdays). Many
people need to take the test several times before passing – so we might as
well start now. This will go
to the Development Committee. Student
Leadership Conference:
Our goal is to have 20 club members attend the leadership conference in
November because it will be held in Santa Clara this year.
Last year it was held in Southern California.
Many of us have talked about staying at the hotel to be near the action
and have more time to visit the hundreds of other future teachers that will be
attending. We could squeeze 4
people into a room (2 double beds) or even more if someone wants to sleep on the
floor. The costs would not be very
much…… To
