Logo:

Everyone cast their vote for the final logo and the winner is .  People said they liked the symbolize of connecting to our heart / passion/ the children's hands.  Many people also said it looked the best in black and white.

Mission Statement:

We liked the mission statement that Shauna and Barbara put together based on their internet search and combined ideas.  We will use it until a "Mission Statement" can be created during a meeting.  After discussing the best time to meet - it was decided to have another meeting next week (March 4th - Monday 5:30pm - 7:30pm).  That meeting will be mandatory for "Officers" and open to anyone else that wants to brain storm our new mission statement.

All those attending the meeting are supposed to think about what is important to them.  We are supposed to think about what we need in a club - what a club should do - what needs we have during our quest to become teachers.

ICC - "Becoming a real club" requirements:

Shauna Aragon and Barbara Tuma finished the necessary paperwork to become an official club on campus.  The paperwork was filed on Thursday February 21 and Barbara attended our first ICC meeting.  The ICC voted to approve the club - thus making us official.  Barbara stated she would like to be the ICC reprehensive since she is available on Thursdays.

Web Page

The web page is getting close to being done.  We just need to add the officers and a few more links to our LINKS PAGE.   We were added to Yahoo this week - and the CTA / SCTA added us to their page (YEa!!)  Go to http://www.cta.org --- go into the student section - and then look at the local chapter page. -- there we are!

Officers:

Those interested in being an officer in the club are:

Shauna Aragon (President)
Steve Cobral (VP)
Barbara Tuma (VP- ICC)
Deborah Renick (VP - PM Meeting Coordinator)
Evan Low (VP-Information Manager)
Cassie Lindberg (VP - Finance)
Susan Bergstrom (VP - Historian)
Nalleli (Nelly) Garcia (VP Publicist / Marketing)
Dawn Yules (VP____
Maha Selim (VP ____
Brenda Alnkhandsa (VP ___

We amended our constitution to create new job title to give everyone interested in being an officer - a title.    *** Bylaw definition of officer

We held the election and the results are on the membership page.

Mae and others talked about the "Teacher's Portfolio" and how participation in this group - and association with it looks great.  It also will help distinguish yourself during the application to a credential program.
