• Or communicate more effectively in your professional or personal life?

These and many other communication skills are being offered by the Communication Studies Department in the Communication Studies Certificate program. To earn a Certificate, you simply complete 9 units of communication study at West Valley College in the following areas (All courses for the Communication Studies Certificate must be taken at West Valley College or at Mission College.):

Choose (1) course (3 units):
Oral Presentations (Communication 1, 10 or 20)

Choose (1) course (3 units):
Interpersonal Communication (Communication 8) or
Improving Relationships (Communication 25) or
Effective Listening (Communication 17)

Choose one course (3 units):
Small Group Discussion (Communication 4) or
Intercultural Communication (Communication 12) or
Career Communication (Communication 18)

Upon completion of the 9 units, you will be awarded the Communication Studies Certificate, which will highlight your training in communication skills to prospective employers, four-year colleges and other organizations.
