Studies Faculty
The
Communication Studies Department has an experienced full-time and part-time
faculty, all of whom are involved in activities on campus and in the community.
Full-Time Faculty
Randy Fujishin / office: LA4D 741-2493 / randy_fujishin@westvalley.edu
Randy Fujishin teaches public speaking, group discussion, and
improving relationships. He holds a masters degree in speech communication
and a masters degree in counseling psychology. Randy lives in Scotts Valley
with his wife Vicky, and their two sons.
John Hannigan:

John teaches Public Speaking, Small Group Discussion, and Argumentation
and Debate. John holds an M.A.Degree in Communication Studies from San
Jose State.He lives in San Jose, with his wife Teri and their two children.
Meg Laxier-Farrell office: Office LA4e, lives
in Campbell, Phone 741-2490
Meg Laxier-Farrell teaches public speaking, effective listening, interpersonal
and intercultural communication. Meg has a BA from San Diego State University
in speech communication with a minor in broadcast journalism. She earned
her MA from San Jose State University. Meg lives in San Jose with her
husband Tim.
Paul Sanders office: LA20D 741-2513 paul_sanders@westvalley.edu
Paul Sanders teaches public speaking, persuasive speaking, interpersonal
communication and career communication. He holds a bachelors degree in political
science with minor in business from Wittenberg University, an MBA from the
University of Dayton, and a masters degree in speech communication from San
Jose State University. Paul lives in Santa Cruz.
Associate Faculty
The Communication Studies Department has several outstanding associate
faculty members.
Ellen Shide Crannell office: LA20C
Ellen Shide Crannell teaches effective listening, public speaking, interpersponal
and intercultural communication. Ellen has a BS from San Jose State University
in International Business with a minor in Asian Studies. Her MA is in
Speech Communication from San Francisco State University. Ellen also teaches
at De Anza College and San Jose State University
Liz Harris
E.S. Harris A.B, Speech Communication, San Diego State University;
M.A., Communication Studies, San Jose State University. She teaches persuasion
and argumentation and debate.
Charlotte Morrison
Charlotte Morrison teaches public speaking, interpersonal communication,
and intercultural communication. She holds a bachelors and masters degree
in speech communication from Western Washington University. Charlotte
lives in Capitola with her partner Kevin and her cat, Pibby.
