the West Valley and SJSU Academic Exchange Program with Brazil
About the Program
The California-Brazil Business & Education Consortium Program brings together two
leading Silicon Valley institutions, West Valley College and San Jose State University, in partnership with
Brazilian universities located in the States of Minas Gerais and Amazonas.
The program will foster the advancement of technical expertise and cultural
understanding that will help to prepare students to work in an international context as well as contribute
to their long-term involvement in trade between the U.S. and Brazil.
The subject areas focused in the consortium are: Language, High Technology, Material Science,
Engineering, International Business
In order to be eligible for scholarships, students enrolled at West Valley or SJSU must:
- Be in good standing with GPAs of at least 2.5
- Be planning to pursue degrees in fields offered by participating schools in Brazil
- Have intermediate proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish or enroll in Portuguese language classes beginning the year before their travel
Our institutions will also host Brazilian students that will stay in the Bay Area for one semester.
The first group will arrive in the end of August and will attend Fall 2007 classes.
