ASO was approached a while ago with thee idea of providing an Eco pass to every WVC student. So ASO started to look into it.
"Eco Pass provides employers of all sizes with a way to offer an attractive, low-cost employee benefit and to lessen the demand for on-site parking. Employers purchase annual Eco Pass stickers for all full-time employees at a given work site, paying one low cost."
A monthly pass is 70 dollars, and a year pass is about $820. Now if we get an Eco pass in our campus every student would pay a $18 mandatory fee and we would get it for one full semester.
In addition we have teamed up with Al trans, which is a shuttle service for our campus. So if any student lives in a radius of 30 miles we would set up a schedule to go get them and pick up the student.
The "Pro" thing is now we have a cheap service with VTA, less stress to find parking, and a student would save money.
The "Con" of this is it would we charge a mandatory fee to every student either part-time or full-time. Also if you have a car you would still need to pay for it.
All we need is to have students feedback we need at least 5,000 students to take our survey to even move forward with Eco pass and Al trans.
So we are doing the survey, with an incentive a raffle. We are raffling, money for food, a massage to relax from finals, and $50 for Barnes and Noble.
