Beginning drawing course for students with no former experience. Representational and expressive techniques with pencil, charcoal, conte, and pen & ink will be explored.

Art 33 A BASIC DESIGN: 2D - This course introduces students to the principles and elements of two-dimensional design. Visual awareness, line, shape, space, pattern, texture and basic color theory are covered.

Art 33 C BASIC DESIGN: COLOR - This course studies color as a design element. Students will explore modes of color organization and interaction.

Art 35 A LIFE DRAWING - Fundamental study of the human figure as the main subject matter of drawing, rendered in representational and expressive terms.

Students are introduced to digital imaging, digital video/ animation, and interactive authoring utilizing contemporary art strategies. The impact of technology on 19th and 20th century art production is covered in depth.

Students are given the opportunity to develop intermediate to advanced character & effects animation techniques including inverse kinematics, deformation control, particle simulation and lighting effects. This course may be repeated for elective credit.
