We offer students of all abilities and experience unique hands-on experience in Television Acting, Production and Filmmaking. Students are taught film acting in a professionally run TV Studio on campus which is currently being upgraded to a digital status. The Studio is linked to Public Access, Channel KSAR, which means that their shows can make it "on air". The Filmmaking program offers courses in both screenwriting and filmmaking and will soon be offering digital editing. All TV/Film courses are taught by working professionals who want to prepare YOU for the real world of TV/Film.
The TV/Film production courses are supported by film survey classes, taught on campus and as telecourses. These classes offer you insight into the theory and history of filmmaking, and the challenges faced by directors and producers when creating major films. The survey classes give you insight into the choices filmmakers must face, and the way those choices affect the final product. After taking these classes, you will not look at film the same way again.
Our focus is on experimental education, whether you are studying TV/Film acting, production or filmmaking. In order to give our students a solid foundation, we provide study of Film Masters. Both the study of Film Greats and hands-on experience enrich our students development in the complex world of television and film.
