Don Balistreri

A native of San Jose, Don Balistreri holds a Master of Arts Degree in Improvised Music and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classical Performance, both from San Jose State University, and has been a music educator since1987. His major concentration of study and performance has been jazz and classical guitar which has included instruction from such elite players as David Tanenbaum and Tuck Andress.

Don often performs throughout Silicon Valley in a variety of settings... country clubs (San Jose Country Club, Los Altos Golf and Country Club, Capital Club), restaurants (La Maison du Cafe, Villagio) hotels (Fairmont, DeAnza) weddings, musical theater orchestras (American Musical Theatre of San Jose, San Jose Children’s Musical Theatre, Palo Alto Children’s Theatre), art receptions, recitals... usually as a soloist but frequently with other instrumentalists and/or vocalists.
