What does it cost?
All registered students will be required to pay per unit fees. (Full time students should expect to pay around $300 in enrollment fees per semster).  Fees are subject to change.  Basic fees which each student pays, includes a health service fee, Tel/Web registration fee, ASB fee, and a campus center fee.  Non-residents of California are required to pay out of state tuition of $173 per unit and International students pay $178 per unit.  Parking permits are currently $40 per semester.  Please visit our section on fees ›.

What is the Educational Transition (ET) Adult Re-entry Program?
The Educational Transition (ET) Program › at West Valley College can be of assistance to you with needed support and guidance as you make the important decision to return to college or begin your educational experience. ET offers a wide range of services for adult learners plus the friendship, encouragement and support needed to help you feel confident and successful in achieving your goals. What are the options after WVC - where can I transfer?

Do you have transfer agreements?
Yes! We have transfer admissions agreements (TAA).  TAA is a formal written agreement between a community college and a university.  The TAA guarantees admission into the university upon completing 60 transferable units.  Participating universities include UC, CSU, and Santa Clara University. What are the start dates?

What programs do you have?
West Valley College confers Associate degrees (A.A. and A.S.), certificates of training, and general education certification for lower division university requirements. What kind of help can I expect to get? (What services do you offer?)
West Valley College offers a variety of services to support our students both academically and personally.  We offer services that range from services for students with disabilities to tutoring, to Financial Aid.  Our goal is to promote student success.  During the first week of each semester we host a Student Services Day, which highlights the benefits of each program.  Please visit the student services › website for more details.

How long will it take me to get my degree?
The amount of time it takes to complete an associates degree at WVC varies with each student's individual need.  During this time, as you are working with and academic counselor, you are completing general education requirements, and any prerequisite courses you might need.  Most of our certificate programs typically take 2 or more semesters to complete.

What varsity sports do you offer?
West Valley College has the most comprehensive Athletic Program in the Bay Area. Men's sports include cross country, basketball, football, swimming and diving, soccer, water polo, wrestling, baseball and track. Women's sports are cross country, soccer, swimming and diving, water polo, volleyball, softball and track. WVC also offers an Athletic Training Program of Sports Medicine. Do I have to take the assessments?
West Valley College uses tests and other measures to assess basic skills levels so that students can better match their needs and abilities with course requirements, select appropriate courses, and improve their chances for success. What are the acceptance requirements?
Students who are 18 years old or have received their H.S. diploma, obtained a G.E.D, passed the state proficiency test, or a high school student with a Concurrent Enrollment application can enroll at West Valley College. For information on admissions visit: how to apply › .

Can I take classes as a high school student?
Yes! The Concurrent Enrollment (CE) program enables eligible high school students to earn college credit for courses taken at the college (up to 6 units per Fall/Spring semester or 5 units per Summer/Winter session) while they are still enrolled in high school. The Early Admissions (EA) program brings West Valley College orientation and assessment testing directly to high school seniors at 15 area high schools. Participating seniors earn college credit (1/2 unit), free of charge, and are given the opportunity to register for classes prior to high school graduation, with priority status.
