English as a Second Language

ESL Skills Lab

The ESL Skills Lab helps English as a Second Language students with grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, spelling, and writing. You can get the extra practice you need by working with workbooks, textbooks, audiotapes, or computer programs.

The Skills Lab may be for you if:

• you are not ready for college courses,
• you are enrolled in ESL or other course and would like to refresh your skills, or
• your schedule doesn't allow you to come to campus regularly.

Fall Hours are:

Mondays 10:30 am - 6:00 pm
Wednesdays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Thursdays 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

How to proceed:

• Register for ESL 975, one or two sections.
• Earn .5 unit for each section.
• Work in the lab for a total of 27 hours.
• Work on your English at your own pace with self-study materials.
• Ask instructors and lab tutors if you have any questions.
