Everyone says you need to have community service, volunteer, or work experience to be competitive, but how do you find these opportunities? This class will teach you how to examine your interests, write your first resume, and interview for volunteer or paid positions. We will examine community resources and your personal networks to uncover potential options that fit your individual needs. You will leave this class with a professionally reviewed resume, list of resources, and personal plan of action.

Congrats - you have achieved a significant milestone graduating from college! But what's next in 2011? We will examine all of your options, and you will leave with a targeted resume and plan of action.

Effective workplace communication depends on being easily understood. Even if you speak English fluently, you may be frustrated when you need to repeat what you just said, and feel you are blocked from reaching your full potential at work. In this class you will develop your pronunciation, accent and fluency using authentic workplace activities and situations.

Develop a plan for your accent improvement goals, taught by instructors with workplace knowledge and years of experience. Gain the confidence and skills to fulfill your career potential! Learn to present your skills and achievements with a clear, well-written cover letter, a targeted and effective resume, and the ability to clearly and quickly describe why you are the best candidate for the job. Students will practice fluency for formal and informal business interviews, and strategies for gaining confidence in business settings. Leave the class with a professional resume, cover letter, and concise presentation of your professional skills.
