CAREER PROGRAMS: Major Requirements

Child Studies Degree
Associate of Science Degree: Early Childhood Education
41 to 44 UNITS

To be awarded an AS Degree in Early Childhood Education, a student must complete 42 units in Child Studies coursework including completion of one Certificate of Achievement Program and one of the Specializations, plus the general education units required for college graduation.

Completion of one Certificate of Achievement Program:
Certificate      Units     
Early Childhood Certificate of Achievement 30 units
Primary Education Certificate of Achievement 30 units
Early Childhood Early Intervention Certificate of Achievement 30 units
Family Development Certificate of Achievement 32 units

Completion of Specialization:
Specialization      Units     
Program Director 12 units
Communication and the Arts 12 units

Completion of General Education graduation requirements
