  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the total child's physical, cognitive, emotional, social and moral development

  2. Identify stages of development as described by Freud, Erickson and Piaget

  3. Distinguish various observation techniques and approaches to studying child development

  4. Evaluate cross cultural and societal influences on child development

  2. Biological beginnings, prenatal development

  3. Birth, physical development in infancy

  4. Cognitive development in infancy

  5. Socioemotional development in infancy

  6. Physical development in early childhood

  7. Cognitive development in early childhood

  8. Socioemotional development in early childhood

  9. Physical and cognitive development in middle and late childhood

  10. Socioemotional development in middle and late childhood

  11. Physical, cognitive and socioemotional development in adolescence
