Computer Information Systems

The Computer Information Systems department at West Valley College offers three different programs: Computer Science, Computer information Systems, and Business Applications. Certificates in all three disciplines are available too.

The Computer Science concentration provides a foundation in the concepts and skills of computer programming and classes are available in  C++, Java, Object Oriented programming, and Unix.

The Computer Information Systems concentration provides students the opportunity to learn the theoretical and practical skills relating to computer systems applications and operations as employed within the Information Technology industry.

Business Applications

The Business Applications concentration focuses on the development or maintenance of software applications use in an enterprise: business, industry, government, or non-profit. The degree focuses on programming business applications using programming languages, systems analysis and data base management.
