Biography

President Kashima started her educational career teaching English at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. She then joined the West Valley-Mission Community College District family by becoming an adjunct faculty teaching ESL at Mission College in 1994. Since that time, she has served as adjunct faculty, full-time faculty, Academic Senate President, department chair, division chair, dean of CTE at Mission College and dean of instruction and vice president of student services at West Valley College. Her central focus is closing the opportunity gap for under-resourced students using evidence-based and innovative practices and continuing to move the college toward being truly student ready.
