Biography

I'm proud to be a Viking and a Spartan. I hold an A.A. in Liberal Arts from West Valley College, as well as a B.A. and an M.A. in Speech-Communication from San Jose State University. I minored in Literature. My Master's thesis was published in 2002; it was a case study on the social construction of an autistic child's progressive and regressive communicative and social abilities, on how these interact. I've taught for over two decades in the field of Communication Studies. The courses I teach are Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Argumentation and Advocacy (Debate), Critical Thinking/Critical Decision Making, Communication in Small Groups and Teams, Media and Culture, and Writing Workshop.
