The Interior Design program is a comprehensive, nationally accredited (FIDER), professional curriculum which provides courses focusing on the vital and basic aspects of interior design. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on the fundamental relationship of interior design, architecture, and the visual and decorative arts. The program prepares students to become professional interior designers who identify, research, and creatively solve problems pertaining to the function and quality of the interior environment. Students are prepared to perform services relative to interior spaces, including design analysis, programming, space planning and aesthetics, using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building codes, equipment, materials and furnishings. They prepare drawings and documents relative to the design of interior spaces in order to enhance and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
