Message on Middle East & Community Support Space

October 20, 2023

Dear Campus Community,

I begin this campus communication by sharing with you my sadness about the recent developments and now war in the Middle East. While these may be contextualized in many decades of strife in the region, the abject horror of armed conflict and violence is no less disturbing. The events are impacting members of our community in different ways, and I encourage those most directly impacted to draw on the strength of our community to support you. World events may cause disarray and imbalance, heartache, and pain among members of our community. We have a globally diverse community at WVC, and we carry many connections to those across the world. I invite everyone to exercise grace and compassion as we support each other and our students in recognizing our common humanity.

Community Support Space: Monday, October 23 at 10 a.m.

Hosted by West Valley College Mental Health Services in the Center for Identity & Exploration in the Campus Center

Join members of the West Valley College community to be in community, gain support, and engage in dialogue about the current war in the Middle East. All are welcome to attend.
