Computer Aided Drafting & Design

Certificate of Achievement

The Computer Aided Drafting and Design Certificate is designed for students to learn, develop, and practice skills in computer aided drafting and computer graphics to prepare conceptual, design, and construction drawings. The program provides a professionally-focused curriculum centered on the practical application of skills related to the interior design field. Examples of interior design employers and career opportunities include: interior design firms, architectural firms, kitchen and bath design firms, commercial furniture dealerships, corporate facilities departments, design-build firms, and retail furnishings stores.

To be awarded a certificate, a student must:

  1. Complete all the program requirements.
  2. Earn a grade of “C” (or "P") or better for all required courses.

Upon successful completion of this program a student will be able to:

  • Produce CADD drawings to represent existing field conditions by using the principles of industry standard drafting conventions.
  • Create, manipulate, and organize hand-drafted and CADD drawings using industry standards.
  • Plan and generate CADD drawing files using common and advanced CADD tools.
