In today’s world, we need leaders who will engage our most pressing social issues with compassion, critical thought and action. The faculty and staff in The School of Social Science are committed to developing our future leaders who represent the caring and passion for being the best citizens at the local, national and global level.
Our school offers coursework that examines the disciplines of Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Humanities, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Justice Studies, Sociology, as well as Women, Gender and Queer Studies. You will find that they share many theories, issues, and approaches. You can expect that all of them focus on diversity and equity. Our faculty guide students to become conscious, critical thinkers committed to expanding knowledge, scientific inquiry and academic excellence, and willing to put theory into action.
Whether you plan a future in any of our disciplines, you will discover that all our fields of study permeate the workforce in education, business, government and health care. We offer eight Associate of Arts Transfer Degrees and seven local Associate of Arts Degrees.
We welcome you to our teaching and learning community, and hope we will provide the launch into a promising profession and career that will positively impact the human experience.
