Come enjoy free food catered by Tacos el Compa, live music by Mariachi Estelar, and an opening to our commencement by Calpulli Tonalehqueh!" RSVP soon and also receive a sash created with love for our very first Latine/a/o/x & Hispanic commencement.

Students Speakers Needed

We are looking for two West Valley College students who would like to write inspirational speeches for our FIRST-EVER Latino & Hispanic graduation ceremony. To apply to speak to your graduating class you must be graduating/transferring from WVC in Spring 2024 and you must want to deliver your speech in all English or all Spanish or all in an Indigenous dialect.

The Office of Student Needs will be providing FREE 20 minute photoshoot sessions to currently enrolled WVC Students who will be graduating Spring 2023. There will be a cap and gown available to your to use for the shoot.

Celebrando Nuestra Excelencia FAQs

CNE has a Latino/a/e/x & Hispanic cultural focus in the celebration and personalized. Students are encouraged to participate in both graduations.

You can sign up by going to the CNE graduation website and completing the RSVP form by May 5, 2024.

Yes, you can participate in both graduations.

The celebration will be conducted in English and Spanish.

Yes, families and friends are welcomed!

Families and friends can park in parking lot 4 and 5 and do not have to pay for parking. Please ensure that all your guest park in lot 4 or lot 5 to not receive a parking citation.

West Valley College is committed to providing disability-accessible events and activities. If you have a disability access need, (e.g., enlarged print, wheelchair access, or a Sign Language Interpreter, etc.), please contact (Tania Pichardo ([email protected]) prior to the event, preferably three business days in advance to allow time for coordination.

All food and beverages will be free for students and guest.

No balloons, banners, or horns will not be permitted inside the building. There will be an outdoor table, where balloons and banners can be placed until the end of the ceremony.

Latinx Summit | Spring 2023

This summit is an annual event to invite Latinx-identified high school students to campus to learn about programs and support specifically for Latinx students at West Valley College. There were groups of 5-15 students from each of numerous area high schools and their school counselors.
