Revisit STEAM’D Fest 2025 Through WVC Photo Galleries
Revisit West Valley College’s second annual STEAM’D Fest through images now available online of the vibrant showcase of graduating students’ work from across the Bill and Leila Cilker School of Art and Design and the School of Science and Math.
The three-day event, held on campus May 15 through 17, drew approximately 1,500 attendees. Festivities kicked off with a Chamber Music Recital, a student-led Film Festival, and a sold-out Jazz Under the Stars performance in the Jean and E. Floyd Kvamme Planetarium.
The popular, long-running WVC Fashion Show again proved a crowd-pleaser, with stunning student designs featuring a neutral palette, broad-ranging fabric choices from knits to patchwork, and gender fluid draping. Students also directed the show’s music and visual choices.
Catch a glimpse, too, of photos from the Dance Caravan.
Additional STEAM’D Fest offerings, presented in partnership with CONTENT magazine, included Boulevard Expressions: An Exhibition of Lowrider Culture, Screenprinting of SoAD swag, Drawing and Monoprinting workshops, an industry event for portfolio reviews, and more.
The event name refers to science, technology, engineering, the arts, mathematics, and design. Organizers, deans Shannon Mirabelli-Lopez of SoAD and Mel Vaughn of the School of Science and Math, launched the event in 2024 to reinforce a WVC culture of collaborative interdisciplinary connection in solving real world problems.
