ARCH 061: Architectural Design I

Course Description

This course is an architectural design studio. Instructors introduce a full range of architectural ideas and issues through drawing exercises, analysis of precedents, and exploration of design methods. Students have the opportunity to develop design skills by conceptualizing and representing architectural ideas and making aesthetic judgments about building design. Design problems studied in the course range from those of the immediate environment of the individual to that of small social groups. Students have the opportunity to develop their architectural creativity by use of software such as Rhino, SketchUp, and Revit.
