Course Description
This course is designed to introduce second language learners of English to a broad range of topics related to socio-economic, constitutional, and cultural traditions of the United States with emphasis on key events, issues, and their backgrounds. The focus of the course is on communicative English skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking as related to basic knowledge of the U.S. historical periods beginning in the late fifteenth century on through the mid-twentieth century.
