Course Description
This course is intended for students interested in working in the medical field utilizing the Spanish language. This course provides students the opportunity to learn and practice basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary related to the medical working environment. Topics include getting to know the patient, gathering medical history, identifying vocabulary for major illnesses, and identifying the body parts. This course offers a wide range of medical and cultural topics related to the Spanish-speaking community, such as how AIDS has impacted the Latino/a/x communities, common home remedies, and cultural differences in emergency response requests.
