
West Valley College has officially unveiled its refreshed brand, marking a bold step forward in how the college shows up for students, employees, and the broader community. Grounded in the new “Ignite the Next” tagline, the updated brand reflects West Valley’s commitment to possibility, momentum, and the transformative power of education. From updated visuals and messaging to a more unified voice across campus, the relaunch represents a comprehensive effort to better align who we are with how we communicate and connect.
To celebrate this milestone, the college community came together for a campuswide event that brought the new brand to life in a vibrant and engaging way.
‘Reveal Party’ Brings to Life Refreshed West Valley College Brand
When the West Valley Brand Refresh Launch Party started at noon April 22, a 6-by-4 foot photo “canvas” beneath the Kirkorian Pavilion stood blank. Within two hours, against a backdrop of infectious music and lively conversation, a unified West Valley family portrait comprising 200+ snapshots came vividly to life, an active reflection of our new forward-looking tagline: Ignite the Next.
Populating each square in the photo mosaic were smiling, thoughtful faces of WVC community members embodying the spirit of moving boldly ahead toward achieving their goals. Images of study partners, Viking teammates, faculty colleagues, classified staff, and others showed many in T-shirts and baseball caps sporting our fresh navy and orange palette, clean and modern typeface, and tagline. “It was incredible to see our campus fully step into this moment,” said Katie Woods, director of WVC Marketing and Communications. “This isn’t just a brand refresh — it’s a declaration of who we are and where we’re going. ‘Ignite the Next’ captures the momentum of our students, faculty, and staff and gives us a powerful, unified way to tell the West Valley College story. I’m deeply grateful to our Marketing and Communications team, whose creativity, strategy, and hard work brought this vision to life.”
More than 300 attendees received ticket bundles redeemable for complimentary T-shirts emblazoned with the new Ignite the Next logo, along with their choice of branded keychains, ID holders, sunglasses, and treats ranging from horchata-flavored paleta ice cream bars to lavender Earl Grey boba beverages. Judging by the line that stretched the length of the patio adjacent to Kirkorian, the customizable Ignite the Next hat station quickly became a fan favorite.
