Logos and Marks

West Valley’s logos and marks are supporting elements of the brand. A brand is the experience people have with the college.

Primary Logo

The primary logo, West Valley’s main identifier, combines the college’s full name and leafy “W.” It has the feeling of growth and forward momentum. Use the logo on communication materials for campus-wide and/or external audiences, or for promoting events and activities sponsored by multiple campus units.

Color: West Valley Blue. Never place the logo over a background with patterns or images—unless you place the mark reversed in white over a dark image with an opacity of 60 percent or more.

Clear Space: Never crowd the logo with other visual elements. Use the height of the capital “W” as your unit of measurement. Please allow a space of at least “W” that fits in an imaginary box around the mark.

Minimum Size: Never reduce the width of the primary logo to smaller than one inch or 26 millimeters.

Horizontal Logo

The horizontal logo is used when placement of the primary logo is not possible.

Department Logos

Campus units may request department logos to use on internal communications. When communicating with a broad, external audience, the primary logo should be used. The marketing and communications team will create all department logos.

College Seal

The college seal is  reserved for use at official and ceremonial functions. Generally, it is used for communications from the Office of the President or from the Board of Trustees. It may also be used for watermarked paper and in materials that represent the entire college, such as letters of admission, commencement collateral and diplomas.

Requests to use the seal may be sent to the Office of Marketing and Communications.

See West Valley College’s Department of Athletics for information on usage.
