Free, Fresh Meals—Every Week You're Enrolled

West Valley-Mission Community College District has launched the first-in-the-nation universal free meal plan at a community college. Every student deserves to feel focused and prepared; that starts with something to eat. Fuel your future with fresh, reliable meals because success shouldn't depend on what you can afford for lunch.

Enroll in 6 or more in-person units and get $30 loaded to your Student ID every Monday for use at any on-campus dining location. No paperwork. No fees.

Who is Eligible?

Students taking 6 in-person credit units or the non-credit equivalent.

What You Get

$30 per week (about four meals). Balance reloads every Monday at 3:00 a.m. Unused dollars do not roll over.

Where to Spend

Any on-campus cafe, coffee shop, smart fridge, or vending machine.

We'll take care of the meals so you can take care of yourself.

How It Works

If you qualify, your campus Student ID card automatically works as a meal card when its barcode is scanned at checkout.

You can also pay with a digital meal card on your phone by following these steps:

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re enrolled in at least 6 in-person units at West Valley College or Mission College during Fall or Spring, you will automatically receive the Free Meal Plan on your student ID card.

Each week during Fall and Spring semesters, $30 will be added to your meal plan balance automatically.

You can use your meal plan dollars at any on-campus food venue, coffee shop, or Byte-Smart Fridge at West Valley College or Mission College.

You can use your campus Student ID card by scanning its barcode at checkout. You can also access your meal card on the Atrium Connect mobile website, available at westvalley.edu/atrium. See instructions below. You can also add your meal card to the ThomasToGo app if you wish to order ahead and skip the café lines.
  • Open your mobile browser and go to the WVM Atrium Connect website (scan the QR Code or go to westvalley.edu/atrium).
  • Tap the menu icon (three lines in the top left corner), then choose STUDENT & STAFF LOGIN.
  • Sign in with your campus SSO login details.
  • Once logged in, tap the menu again and select DISPLAY VIRTUAL ID. Your ID and barcode will appear on your screen, ready to use.
  • For even quicker access, you can download your digital ID to your phone’s wallet.

Visit your campus Student Services Office for a free replacement physical ID, or follow the online instructions for troubleshooting your digital ID. You can continue to use your digital ID while you wait for a new physical card.

You can check your current balance and view recent transactions anytime on your phone or computer by visiting the WVM Atrium Connect website.

Meal plan balances refresh each Monday morning at 3 A.M. Any unused balance from the prior week will not carry over, so make sure to use your balance before the weekly refresh.

If your purchase is more than your remaining meal plan balance, you can pay the difference using cash or card at the register.

If your enrollment drops below 6 in-person units, you’ll have a two-week grace period before your meal plan access is paused for the rest of the semester. If you re-enroll in 6 or more in-person units during that time, your access will continue without interruption.

The meal plan is active only during the Fall and Spring semesters and is paused during summer and winter terms.

Only students with at least 6 in-person units are eligible for the Free Meal Plan. Hybrid courses with scheduled on-campus meetings count towards in-person units.

The Free Meal Plan is a set weekly amount and cannot be reloaded or “topped up.” For purchases above your meal plan balance, you can use your own payment method at the register.
