High School students that have completed 9th grade can take community college classes at West Valley College, with the approval of their high school officials, and earn college credits. Concurrent Enrollment (CE) students can enroll in up to 8 units per semester within the West Valley Mission Community College District. Prior to starting their application with West Valley, students should speak with their high school counselor so they know of any school/district policies and processes.

CE students enrolled at a participating California high school do not pay for registration fees or tuition for the classes. CE students are required to pay for class fees (ex: lab fees, testing fees), textbooks and supplies.

Steps to Apply

1: Apply to West Valley College

Complete an online CCCApply application for admission to West Valley College.

NOTE: Even if you taken a class with us before, high school students must re-submit an application every winter/spring and summer/fall term.

24 hours after you apply, you will receive your G0# and your MyWVM username (college email address). NOTE: If you do not receive an email with your Student ID Number within 48 hours, search your inbox for a message with the subject, “Welcome to West Valley College” and forward that message to wvc.admissionsFREEWEST_VALLEY

2: Review Class Offerings

Check the Online Searchable Class Schedule for options and confirm courses have registration availability. Speak with your high school counselor, so you know of any high school/district policies and processes around taking community college classes.

Restricted courses: Classes numbered 900 above (basic skills) and Kinesiology (Physical Education) activity classes are not available to CE students.

8 unit maximum: CE students are restricted to 8 total units between West Valley and Mission College.
