Joann Denning

Biography

Joann Denning is a strategic and equity-driven academic leader with over 20 years of experience in the California Community College system. Joann brings extensive experience in academic affairs, including curriculum and program development, accreditation, shared governance, grant-funded initiatives, and workforce-aligned program design.

Her work includes faculty leadership in the development of a Creative Technology apprenticeship program and serving as a key faculty partner in the Regional Virtual Production Academy (RVPA), a multi-college collaboration focused on emerging creative technologies and industry-aligned education. She has contributed to multi-district initiatives, built strong employer partnerships, and advanced equity-centered strategies that support student transfer, completion, and career outcomes. Her leadership emphasizes instructional quality, faculty support, and alignment with institutional mission, policy, and accreditation standards.
