Personal Message to Students
My goal as an educator is to create a welcoming, accessible, and intellectually engaging learning environment in which every student has the opportunity to succeed. I believe that language learning is much more than acquiring vocabulary and grammar. It is an opportunity to explore cultures, perspectives, histories, and ways of understanding the world.
I am committed to creating courses that are accessible to students with diverse learning needs and to incorporating accessibility and ADA compliant practices into my teaching and course materials. I strive to ensure that students can engage with course content in meaningful ways while feeling respected, supported, and included.
French provides a particularly rich opportunity for cultural enrichment. Through language study, students encounter the literature, art, history, traditions, and contemporary perspectives of the many communities and cultures connected to the Francophone world. My hope is that students leave my courses not only with stronger French language skills, but also with greater curiosity, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the diversity of the world around them.
Personal Interests
I enjoy traveling, dancing, swimming, cooking and exploring different cuisines, quilting, crocheting, writing, and learning languages. I particularly enjoy activities that allow me to be creative, experience different cultures, and continue learning. My interests in art, literature, travel, food, and languages also inform my teaching and contribute to my appreciation for the cultural richness of the Francophone world.
