The Kinesiology department will hold a free information session for new and interested students on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 6:30 PM in the Cilker building.
Kinesiology is a study that includes a variety of disciplines that encompass the movement of the human body. A student of Kinesiology will get a broad understanding related to human movement.
Earning a degree or certificate in Kinesiology means becoming a trustworthy and experienced person that people can turn to when assessing their health goals. Students can look forward to exciting careers as teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, fitness professionals, and personal trainers.
The Associate in Arts in Kinesiology for Transfer degree (AA-T in Kinesiology) is a 60 unit program which provides students the lower division coursework required for transfer to a CSU institution for the major in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
An AA-T degree in Kinesiology prepares students to transfer to 4-year institutions to complete a complete a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or a related discipline.
Upon completion of a Kinesiology activity course, the student should be able to:
- perform the specific activity with an adequate degree of proficiency
- achieve a health-enhancing level of physical fitness
- understand the concepts and principles of physical fitness and specific sport skills
- value physical activity and become a lifelong participant in physical activity
