Dean's List

Students who complete 12 or more units in a semester and have at least a 3.00 (“B”) GPA qualify for the Dean’s List. Students who complete between 6 and 11.5 units in a semester with a 3.00 (“B”) GPA qualify for the Dean’s List for part-time students.

Graduates with a cumulative GPA between 3.00 and 4.00 at West Valley College get special recognition at Commencement, as follows:

Transcript Notations

• Alpha Gamma Sigma: Students must apply. GPA of 3.0 or higher, completed at least 6 units at a California Community College, be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at a California Community College, and be a student at West Valley College. Transcript notation credit will be assigned in the term when all major requirements are complete.
• Honors Program Graduate: Students must apply. Completion of 15 units of honors coursework with a cumulative GPA of a 3.25 or better. Transcript notation credit will be assigned in the term when all major requirements are complete.
• Student Government: One term of service, minimum 6 units, with 2.0 GPA. Transcript notation credit will be assigned during the term of service for primary terms.
