From the Studio to the Screen
The Commercial Music Certificate of Achievement - Creating Music for Film, TV and Gaming Pathway focuses on creating and producing music, utilizing technology for the purpose of scoring to picture, short and long form media, from advertising to movie scenes. The program offers all courses, totaling 16 units, with the option to be completed online asynchronously.
No previous music experience is necessary to start this program, but having preliminary music technology skills will be helpful. After completing the certificate program, students will have entry-level skills in scoring for media, know how to work with clients, and will have demos to create show-reel for promoting their abilities.

The courses are designed for students of all levels, providing hands-on experience and thorough training in the creative and technical challenges specific to commercial music. All pathways in the Commercial Music certificate are designed for completion in one year.
In addition to CTE Certificates, the Performing Arts Department offers a comprehensive professional program designed to provide a wide variety of musical experiences for the student seeking to transfer to a baccalaureate program in performance or music education for a career as a musician or music educator.
